The French conversation group meet from 2.00-4.00pm on the 2^nd and 4^th Tuesday of the month. If we have more than six people, we split into two groups to make it easier for everyone to speak.

Homework is to prepare to speak about a certain topic, book or film, for example.

We meet in members’ homes and have an hour of general conversation before a tea/coffee break at 3.00pm when we mix up the groups and chat about the subject we have prepared beforehand. The emphasis is on communication, and grammar is dealt with in an ad hoc way. There is a wide ability range from very hesitant to the fluency of a native speaker.
